Winter in the Ahrntal
Mountains and valleys are snowed in deep. White frost glitters on the trees. Streams and lakes drowse under thick ice. Now there's only one thing left: Bring on your skis, pack your snowboard, cross-country ski outfit and winter boots, don't forget your sled – and off you go to the winter world of South Tyrol!
You will get your money's worth at B&B Hotel Schwarzbachhof in Luttach in the Ahrntal. Almost within sight of our hotel are three award-winning ski areas: the Skiworld Ahrntal, with Speikboden mountain (3 km away) and Klausberg mountain (8 km away), along with South Tyrol's No. 1 ski mountain – the Kronplatz (20 km away). The free ski bus will take you there in a few minutes. Our guests especially love the 9-km-long toboggan and ski run (forest road) from the Speikboden to the Schwarzbachhof in Luttach.
An ideal starting point for your skiing vacation
The Ahrntal Skiworld , including the Speikboden and Klausberg mountains together offer 18 lifts with more than 65 km of ski slopes, featuring absolute snow security and a wonderful mountain panorama. On Kronplatz mountain, with its 26 lifts and 116 km of ski slopes, you can ski downhill in all directions.
You can look forward to plenty of variety and ski slopes to meet everyone's aspirations. For our little guests, professional childcare and ski schools are available on site, where your kids can learn their first turns. After fun on the slopes, you can stop off for a hearty meal in our region's homey mountain huts, restaurants and igloos.

We'll be happy to store your skis, snowboards and shoes in our in-house ski storage with ski boot dryer. An alternative is to use the inexpensive storage facilities at the ski areas.

Tobogganing to the Schwarzbachhof
There are several toboggan runs not far from B&B Hotel Schwarzbachhof in the Ahrntal mountains. The 9-km-long forest road from the Speikboden to Luttach is the longest natural toboggan run in South Tyrol and takes you directly to our front door. You can borrow toboggans free of charge from us at the hotel – and for a small fee at the toboggan runs in Weißenbach, Luttach, Steinhaus and on Speikboden.
Cross-country skiing
Our Alpine region is ideally equipped for vacationers who enjoy cross-country skiing. The towns of Weißenbach, Prettau and Rein in Taufers, with more than 50 km of sunny trails overall, offer you well-prepared long-range routes which will make any cross-country skier's heart beat faster.
Ski touring
Feel the silence of the mountain world and discover nature – the 80 'three-thousander' peaks and many more 'two-thousander' peaks of all levels of difficulty speak for themselves.
Snowshoeing
